If you’re active on TikTok or keep up with the latest dance trends on the app, the name 347aidan should ring a bell. His song “Dancing in My Room” had gathered attention on the app before it was even released, due to a creator starting a dance trend to just the snippet of the song, resulting in countless videos like this.

When the song was officially released on Oct. 26, 2020, TikTokers continued to use the song’s hook to lip-sync and dance to. 347aidan, whose real name is Aidan Fuller, also helped to promote the song himself by creating his own promotional TikToks for the song.

Lyrics like “I been dancing in my room, swayin’ my feet / Tryna give you love and a kiss on the cheek,” make for the perfect hook to dance along to while being cooped up in the house due to the ongoing global pandemic.

The song is simple, but Aidan’s raspy voice and his infectious delivery make it undeniably catchy, and its numbers prove that it’s a real hit. The song has currently been used in 1.9 million TikToks and he has over 610,000 followers on the platform.

Don’t be mistaken, Aidan is not just a “TikTok artist” who creates a viral song only to never be heard from again. The eclectic teen artist is just the latest artist to use social media to his advantage, successfully cultivating a musical career and loyal fanbase all while showing off his talents to the world.

At just 17, he’s already been an active artist for at least three years. He started releasing music on his SoundCloud page in 2018. It wasn’t until June 2019 that he released his SoundCloud music to streaming services.

Fast forward to a year and a half later, he has a viral single under his belt and is currently taking full advantage of the spotlight.

To kick off 2021, he released his newest hit single titled “IDWK” with hip-hop producer Kenny Beats, who has production credits ranging from Freddie Gibbs to Dominic Fike. The two collaborated on this track while Aidan was in L.A. after Kenny heard Aidan’s music. He instantly liked what he heard and realized the collaboration was feasible due to a mutual connection. According to Kenny in a live stream, the duo knocked the song out within an hour of knowing each other and even credited Aidan for recording the song in one take. Throughout his trip to L.A., he was also spotted recording music with frequent XXXtentacion collaborator and staple in the indie music scene, Killstation.

His immense success that he’s managed to garner within the past few months can be attributed to his genuine personality, creative use of social media in which he connects directly with fans and promotes his music by playing snippets, and most importantly, his diverse musical talents. His recognition has earned him an Instagram follow and co-sign from one of the world’s most famous pop-stars, Lil Nas X and an on-air interview with Apple Music’s Radio DJ, Zane Lowe.

Currently, he has close to six million monthly listeners on Spotify, with all five of his most popular songs at well over five million streams respectively; the most popular, the aforementioned “Dancing in My Room” currently sits at 67 million streams.

Beyond the success of his music, Aidan is extremely active on his Instagram account, often going live and interacting with his fans in any way he can. He’s currently on a free virtual tour, taking the time to meet his fans all over the world and connecting with them on a personal level.

Now that he’s blossomed into one of the most promising young and talented artists in the industry, all eyes are on him as he continues to be one of Canada’s greatest sensations.
