After hours

A Trans and neurodivergent experience of nightlife

Pink and green duotone images of queer people, zebra print and a watercolour cutout dispersed on top of a pink monochrome picture of a dirt and sky landscape. An illustration of a tree sits atop the dirt.

Pour, clink
Pose, click
Hit, hit, hit

After hours,
Pockets of trans culture,
Underground POC art,
Raves, fashion, music, and dance
Alive, moving, growing

Try to sway with sacred space and sound
Glitter eye
Spanx
Tuck it up
Try to sway

Take it off, wash it away…

Worn cotton,
detergent
No eyes to match,
No other languages,
Songs from Mom,
White people on a screen instead,

Sway after hours,

Sway,
without masks
Breathe under the hits.
Lie beneath the weight of pockets.

A still movement underground.
